Executive Director, Dr. Tonya Featherston

Dr. Tonya Featherston is an Educational Psychologist with a passion for improving the lives of children, adults and families. Dr. Tonya advocates for social and emotional wellness services in underserved populations such as women, LGBT and communities of color. She is the Co-Founder/Executive Director of The Center for Social Emotional Wellness, an organization that seeks to promote positive mental health in individuals, organizations and communities. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Tonya has worked to develop educational programs and support groups that serve as safe spaces for girls, women and educators to grow and find support. Dr. Tonya currently offers coaching and support groups for educators and other professionals who are seeking assistance with stress management and improving their overall mental health.

 

 

Co-Founder, Norinda Jones

Norinda Jones is the co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at the Center for Social Emotional Wellness. Norinda, better known as “Wendy” is responsible for the coordination of program in the Washington DC area.

Outreach Director, Erin McAlister

Erin McAlister is responsible for building partnerships with other community organizations and sponsors.

 

Yoga Program Coordinator, Kahlill Kukyendall

Mama Yogi Kahlil is the coordinator and an instructor in our Mocha Yogi Kids Program. This program is designed to get children of color engaged in mindfulness and social emotional learning practices through the use of yoga.
